Does ShiftPoint test students for their drivers license or do we have to test at ADOT?

Our priority is driver readiness-not pass rates.
Eligible students do not necessarily have to test at an ADOT/MVD office. ShiftPoint is an ADOT-authorized Third Party Driver License Training Provider, which allows us to provide qualifying driver training and administer the required road evaluation for eligible students.However, completing a ShiftPoint lesson package does not guarantee that a student will be approved to take their final evaluation with us or that they will pass it.AGAIN: Our priority is driver readiness-not pass rates.Before we allow a student to take their final evaluation, they must demonstrate through our curriculum and instructor evaluation that they are ready to safely operate a vehicle independently. If a student is not ready, we will not put them on a road test simply because they have completed their purchased lessons. Additional training may be recommended before they are permitted to test.We do this intentionally. We are not interested in chasing a 100% pass rate by only testing students we know will pass. We would rather have a student take additional lessons and become genuinely prepared than send an unprepared driver onto the road.A driver's license is more than a test result. Does my student have to hold their permit for six months before getting their license?

If your student is under 18, they generally must hold their learner’s permit for at least six months before becoming eligible for a driver’s license. Professional instruction through ShiftPoint does not eliminate this requirement.If your student turns 18 before completing the six-month period, the six-month requirement no longer applies.However, being eligible for a license does not necessarily mean a student is ready for one.Six months is a minimum eligibility requirement, not a measure of driving readiness. Some students may need significantly more time and practice to develop the skills, judgment, and confidence necessary to drive safely on their own.That is why ShiftPoint encourages parents to consider readiness, not just eligibility. Different programs offer different training experiences, and we believe there is value in as much quality training and preparation as possible.Our goal is simple: we want our students to become the safest and most prepared drivers they can be, regardless of their age, experience, or skill level.If a closed-course program, skid-car exercise, or simulator gives your student additional experience and helps them better understand vehicle control or emergency situations, we encourage it.We don't believe in limiting a driver's education to just one school or one method. Pickup and drop-off are included with ShiftPoint’s driving lessons.However, we strongly encourage parents to be present for both pickup and drop-off whenever possible. This allows you to briefly debrief with your instructor after the lesson, hear how your student is progressing, learn what they should practice, and ask any questions you may have.We also encourage training in areas your student is already familiar with. Learning to drive is challenging enough without adding an unfamiliar neighborhood or route to the equation. Practicing in familiar surroundings can help students become more comfortable and confident behind the wheel while they work on developing their skills.As your student progresses, we can gradually introduce new roads, traffic situations, and environments to help them become a more adaptable and independent driver.Pickup and drop-off are included. Having a parent in the vehicle can sometimes add additional pressure or distractions, even when the parent has the best intentions.Our lessons are designed to give the student a focused, one-on-one learning environment where they can make mistakes, ask questions, and build confidence without feeling like they are being watched or judged.We still want parents to be involved in their student's progress. Upon request, parents can receive the available video footage from the vehicle's interior and exterior cameras to review the lesson and see what their student has been working on.This also allows parents to better understand what their student has learned and what they should continue practicing between professional lessons.Less pressure in the car.
