What is the Road Test Waiver?

SHIFTPOINT is authorized by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) to provide professional driving lessons and to serve as a third-party contractor for administering final road evaluations and issuing road test waivers.

Typically, permitted drivers or individuals 18 and older must pass the Arizona MVD driving skills test to obtain a full driver’s license. This exam includes a vehicle safety check, demonstration of basic vehicle functions, and a practical driving test along a 15–20 minute route.

At SHIFTPOINT, we conduct the same official road exam but without the DMV stress.

Eligible students can complete their road test with us during their final lesson. That means no DMV appointment is required. If you pass, you can receive your road test waiver and obtain your driver’s license the same day.
