Throughout our manual lessons that include the driver's license examination our instructors find the importance in the DMV test route familiarization (local test routes) for several reasons.
Most student get fixated with passing the evaluation, constantly asking if this and that will be on the test. We have found it best to be completely transparent with the DMV test routes familiarization (local routes) so that it eases the stress off our students so that they can perform their best and focus on the more important things during our lessons.
The Arizona Driver Test requirements are (what we believe) too easy. The bar is set low and here is why we believe that. The DMV Test Route requires very minimal standards that allow lots of room for error. Additionally, there is no one at these other companies that are holding the instructor accountable for their test evaluation standards. Most of these companies allow you to take the exam with the instructor you have been training with the whole time which is great for comfortability but not great when the instructor is working on a person quota of having a high pass rate. A lot of instructors at other companies allow their students to drive the actual DMV test route before their test to become familiar with the exam so that it is an easy pass. This is not DMV test route familiarization - this is endangerment. If the student needs to practice the route before their exam, they are not ready to have their license.
At ShiftPoint, we practice through mock exams without the student even knowing. This is actually knowledge base for the instructor to find out where the student is in regards to the test readiness. We want our students to have DMV test route familiarization, not the test route memorized. We want our students to be surprised how easy the route is in comparison to their lessons.
This is why we stand our from other driving schools, we don't want to impress you with our pass rate or cheap lessons - we want you to know that you are paying for a life changing service, that will one day safe your, or your child's life.
